O my, Fido had an accident on my carpet. Please help me. We get alot of calls about this so Im going to put this in a blog post. If you have a pet there are a few things that you want to keep on hand for the accidents. These items will assist you in cleaning up your pets accidents.

  1. Lots of paper towels or “junk towels”
  2. Rubber gloves
  3. Plastic grocery store Bags.
  4. Enzyme cleaner
  5. Shop Vac – Optional but handy

  1. Remove Physical evidence with the Bags. Put you hands in bag and grab from the opposite side – dispose.
  2. Blot any excess with paper towel. Be careful not to smear
  3. Apply some enzyme cleaner and blot carefully. Repeat untill stain is gone. For bad problems you can apply alot of enzyme and extract with a shop vac.
  4. Follow up with a clean water rinse and blot or shop vac it out.
  5. Take shop vac into tub or yard and spray it out and disinfect.

  1. Blot up as much as you can with the paper towels.
  2. Apply the ezyme cleaner – blot – repeat.
  3. If the saturation is heavy consider pouring alot on and allowing to soak through to the pad and then extraact with the shop vac. You may also consider pulling back the carpet and treating the back side of the carpet and pad, or removing and replacing the carpet padding all together.
  4. Clean and Sanitize your shop vac.

Make sure the Enzyme cleaner you have is safe for carpet. It can be obtained from any pet store and most grocery stores and general stores. You can get the professional products we use from you local janitoral store. Make sure it says live enzyme cultures on the back.

If you have and air purifier You can use it in the room to help get rid of any lingering smells.

Additionally you should have the carpet cleaned by a professional carpet cleaner ..
